About Technopak

Technopak is one step ahead in the innovation, design and manufacture of high-hygiene, food-grade packaging equipment for the global dairy industry. From our East Tāmaki operation, we manage every stage of a project from concept development and engineering design through to manufacture, installation and commissioning. Our machinery is built on site and exported throughout New Zealand, Australia, Asia, the United States and Europe.

We are growing, and we're looking for an experienced Electrician to join our electrical team.

The role

You'll be involved in building the electrical components that power our machinery, working alongside experienced mechanical, electrical and controls professionals to take each machine from concept through to completion.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Building electrical panels and wiring machinery to a high standard
• Testing electrical equipment and preparing machines for commissioning
• Reading technical drawings and assisting with electrical documentation
• Supporting installations, upgrades and servicing when required

You'll be based primarily at our East Tāmaki workshop, with some travel required for installations and service work.

Who this would suit

You might be a solid, experienced Electrician who takes pride in doing a good job and wants stable, interesting work without the politics. Or you may be naturally inquisitive and keen to understand how the mechanical, electrical and controls pieces come together. Either way, you'll need to be practical, adaptable and willing to get involved.

You don't need to be an expert in every aspect of machine building. If you can confidently wire panels and machinery, work safely and produce quality work, we can help you develop the rest.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

• A relevant electrical qualification
• At least five years' practical electrical experience
• Broad electrical knowledge and strong panel and machine-wiring capability
• The ability to read and work from technical drawings
• Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills

Experience with control systems, SolidWorks Electrical, pneumatic drawings or machinery manufacturing would be useful, but it is not essential.
